Johnny Appleseed Day!

Happy Johnny Appleseed Day!!!

We have gone overboard with apples... and Johnny.

We sing about him:

(warning this song is sure to get stuck in your head!)

We write about him:
(I will have to reteach what a FACT and what an OPINION is.) ;)

....and we went craft crazy today and even dressed up like Johnny!

Today was our last day studying apples and it sure was a success! We started our "official" Johnny Appleseed celebration after chapel when we all changed into our Johnny clothes. The kids brought in plaid shirts, jeans and kicked off their shoes to look like Johnny.

{Aside- as one of my precious firsties kicked off his shoes he goes, "Miss Smith, my dad says my feet stink worse than HIS!!!" At that moment I was very thankful I had my Scentsy going!!!}

Then we started a five rotation craft fiesta!
Each child today made:

1. a Johnny hat

2. a mosaic "stained glass" apple

3. a labeled apple core

4. ate apples at a CARAMEL DIPPING STATION

5. Johnny!

Then we went bobbing for apples!!! Might I say, they were MUCH better at this than I expected!!

We even wore pots on our heads!!

 Now tell me that wasn't a FUN day! {"BEST DAY EVER!!!"}
